Overview
Parent Visas allow the parents of settled Australian citizens or permanent residents to migrate to Australia. There are two main streams: Contributory (subclass 143/864) with higher fees but faster processing, and Non-Contributory (subclass 103/804) with lower fees but very long wait times (20+ years).
Requirements
- 1Have a child who is a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible NZ citizen
- 2Meet the balance of family test (at least half your children live in Australia)
- 3Your child must sponsor you with an Assurance of Support (AoS)
- 4Meet health and character requirements
- 5For contributory visas: pay the second instalment contribution ($47,755)
