Understanding Visa Costs

Government Fees

These are set by the Department of Home Affairs and are non-refundable — even if your visa is refused. Fees are updated on 1 July each year. The fees shown are for the primary applicant; additional fees apply for family members included in the application.

Migration Agent Fees

Agent fees vary based on the complexity of your case, the agent's experience, and location. Sydney and Melbourne agents tend to charge more than regional areas. Always get a written fee agreement before engaging an agent.

Medical & Police Checks

Most visa applications require a medical examination by a Bupa Medical Visa Services (BVMS) panel physician and police clearances from every country you've lived in for 12+ months in the past 10 years.

Can I Save Money by Not Using an Agent?

Yes — but for complex visas, the risk of refusal (and losing non-refundable government fees) often outweighs the agent fee savings. For simple visas like visitor or working holiday, many people apply successfully without an agent.
