Tips to Boost Your Score
- Improve your English — Going from IELTS 6 to 7 adds 10 points. From 7 to 8 adds another 10. This is often the easiest way to gain points.
- Consider state nomination — 190 gives 5 extra points, 491 gives 15. Some states have lower requirements.
- Get NAATI certified — Community language accreditation adds 5 points. Available for many languages.
- Complete a Professional Year — 5 points for accounting, IT, or engineering graduates.
- Gain more work experience — Each experience bracket adds 5 points.
- Apply before your birthday — Age points drop at 33 and again at 40.
